Construction of A1 Toruń Stryków motorway on Czerniewice-Kowal section

Project description: The investment concerns the construction of A1 Toruń – Stryków motorway on the section from Czerniewice to Kowal, from km151+900 to km 215+850. This nearly 65-km section of a motorway is situated in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship.

The investment was divided into two Tasks:

Task I - from „Czerniewice" Interchange (including the interchange) to „Brzezie" interchange (excluding the interchange) km 151+900 – 186+366, of the length of 34.466 km), split into two sections:

  • Section I: Czerniewice-Odolion from km 151+900 to km 163+300
  • Section II: Odolion-Brzezie from km 163+300 to km 186+366

Task II - from „Brzezie" interchange (including the interchange) – to „Kowal" interchange (excluding the interchange) km 186+348 – 215+850, of the length of 29.502 km

The following targets will be achieved in result of the investment:

  • taking over a considerable share of traffic from the existing national roads and to a smaller extent from voivodship roads,
  • removing heavy traffic from residential areas,
  • ensuring proper parameters of pavement bearing capacity, fulfilling criteria for allowing heavy traffic of 115 kN axle load,
  • reducing nuisance to the environment caused by the traffic in respect of noise, air pollution, pollution of ground waters and other,
  • ensuring proper level of safety to all users of the planned road,
  • improvement of traffic conditions (increase in the traffic capacity, reduction of time waste),
  • ensuring comfortable and quick passage for all users of the planned road.
