Management and supervision over the construction of A-4 highway between Zgorzelec and Krzyżowa

Project description: Construction of a section of A4 highway between Zgorzelec and Krzyżowa which also involves a reconstruction of the existing section of the highway, form the Poland’s border to Zgorzelec, for the section to be compatible with the highway’s parameters, together with the construction of the new section of the highway. A-4 highway is a part of the European Transport Corridor no. III running in the West-East line, from the German border through the industrialized part of Poland. It is also a part of the European E40 roadway Ostenda (Brussels) – Aachen – Colony – Erfurt – Wrocław – Crakov – Kijov.

The aforementioned investment was divided into two contracts:

Contract A - Construction of A-4 highway Zgorzelec -Krzyżowa on a section between Zgorzelec and Wykroty, from 0+000 km to 22+000 km

The scope of works for Contract A:

  • pavement stabilization on the A-4 section from Zgorzelec (1.7 km long) and with an axle load up to 115kN
  • construction of a new highway (20.3 km long)
  • reconstruction of the existing "Zgorzelec" conjunction
  • construction of a new “Godzieszów” conjunction
  • construction of 8 engineering objects over the highway (road overbridges and ramps for animals)
  • construction of 9 bridge objects along the highway, as well as culverts
  • construction of storm water drainage systems and access roads
  • onstruction of 2 traveller service points, environmental protection equipment (acoustic baffle, water tanks, oil separators, protective green system)
  • construction of lighting and highway communication systems
  • system of meteorological screens and traffic coordination
  • setting highway and road signs, as well as fitting traffic safety equipment

Contract B - Construction of A-4 highway Zgorzelec-Krzyżowa on a section between Wykroty and Krzyżowa, from 22+000 km to 51+400 km

The scope of works for Contract B:

  • construction of a new highway (29.4 km long)
  • construction of “Bolesławiec” and “Krzyżowa” highway conjunction
  • construction of 52 engineering objects over the Highway (19 culverts, 12 road overbridges, 10 highway overbridges, 6 ramps for animals, and 5 highway bridges)
  • construction of storm water drainage systems and access roads
  • construction of 3 traveller service points and a highway road maintenance circuit “Bolesławiec”
  • construction of an environmental protection equipment (acoustic baffle, water tanks, oil separators, protective green system)
  • construction of lighting and highway communication systems
  • system of meteorological screens and traffic coordination
  • setting highway and road signs, as well as fitting traffic safety equipment
