Employer: Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji w m. st. Warszawie Spółka Akcyjna

Project description: The investment is the most important project implemented by MPWiK S.A., being a part of the undertaking “Water supply and sewage treatment in the capital city of Warsaw – Phase IV”.

The principal task of the designed sewage transmission system is taking-over sewage from the left bank Warsaw, previously disposed into the Vistula river, with the help of Burakowski collector at the height of the designed route of Northern Bridge and Bielański collector at the height of Bielański forest and supplying them to Czajka Treatment Plant.

This investment is divided into 2 implementation stages, where Stage I is located entirely at the area of Białołęka city district. Stage II of the investment is a 2.5 km section starting on the left-bank side of Warsaw, in Bielany district, crossing the Vistula river and running through Białołęka district to be connected to the collector built under Stage I (in the area of the crossroad of Myśliborska, Świderska and Obrazkowa Streets). Within a framework of the Stage II, the sewage collectors situated on both sides of the river will be constructed, similarly as in Stage I, in the microtunelling technology. However, for the construction of the passage under the Vistula river (a tunnel of internal diameters of 4.5 m and the length of about 1370, in which two sewage collectors dia. 1.6 m will be placed) – the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) technology will be applied. This technology is used all around the world to build subway, railway and vehicle tunnels.
