Design completion - Tczów

The Design Department completed on time and successfully on March 23rd, 2009, the preparation of design for "Extension of the voivodship road No. 733 Zakrzew - Wolanów - Kowala - Skaryszew - Podgóra (national road No. 12) on the section: from the roundabout in Tczów to the crossroad with the national road No. 12 along with modernisation of a bridge structure at km 56+562 into a culvert" and submitted entire documentation required under the Investor's Contract.

 
Book of Lists Gala

GalaOn February 12th, 2009, in InterContinental Hotel, the official Gala was held, in order to celebrate the launch of a new edition of the Book of Lists, being a set of over 70 lists presenting about 250 companies of various business sectors in Poland: financial, real estate, hotels, consulting services etc. The Gala was attended by presidents, directors and managers of Polish and foreign companies, including representatives of Egis Poland - the Deputy of Transport Department Director and PR&Marketing Manager.

 
Infrastruktura Pomorze 2009 Fair

B.Ekstowicz i J.BoguckiIn mid February our company was represented by Mr. Janusz Bogucki and Bogdan Ekstowicz at Infrastruktura Pomorze Fair. It was the first time Infrastruktura Fair was organized in Pomorze region, which, in the light of our commecing cooperation with Gdańsk authorities, gave us a great opportunity to strengthen our existing contacts and establish new ones. The program of Fair included a number of workshops related to the development of transport infrastructure in the region, use of various sources of energy as well as aspects linked to the cooperation of public and private entities in the context of PPP Act.

 
Completion of Modalohr project

Modalohr concept

On January 29th, 2009, we obtained a work completion protocol related to the project "Technical, economic and financial feasibility study for the rail-road service based on Modalohr system in Poland in Corridor II between German and Belarus borders", the preparation of which started in 2004. The documentation was prepared by Egis BCEOM Internation in cooperation with Egis Poland. The project was quite specific as it was financed in total from the French government funds. However, in present economic situation, the line will not be open.

 
Conclusion of contract - Katowice

Bids submitted by Egis Poland in the tendering procedures announced by Urząd Miasta Katowice have been selected as the best onces, therefore on January 19th, 2009, we signed the contracts for: 1. Design services - Modernisation of tram trackage on the section from Plac Wolności to Katowicki Rynek and 2. Design services - Modernisation of tram trackage along the carriageway of Obrońców Westerplatte Street in Katowice within a framework of the investment - Modernisation of the tram infrastructure together with accompanying infrastructure.

 
Conclusion of contract - Gdańsk

Having been selected in the tendering procedure, on January 15th, 2009, Egis Poland signed a contract with Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdańsk S.A. company for the preparation of the pre-design documentation covering the following studies: 1) Comprehensive Program-Spatial Concept (multi-sectoral and multi-variant) - updating and 2) Comprehensive Feasibility Study - Upgrading of Road-Rail Infrastructure in Port Gdański.

 
Director of Transport Department

Cezary SaganowskiOn January 1st, 2009, Mr. Cezary Saganowski joined the management team of Egis Poland, taking over the duties of the Director of Transport Department. Mr. Saganowski graduated from Warsaw Technical University and has over 16-year experience in the design and supervision over key road projects and in the management of design projects. His presence in our company will definitely help promoting the company's image on the market and reaching considerable effects both in terms of the number of projects won and the quality of projects currently implemented.

 
Opening of Kraków Fast Tram Tunnel

Fast Tram KrakówWe have the pleasure to inform that on 11.12.2008 the only tram tunnel in Poland was opened to traffic. Its construction was supervised by Egis Rail company (along with Egis Poland as a sub-consultant). The investment started at the beginning of 2007 and its implementation ran smoothly. The tunnel is approximately 2 kilometers long and its construction considerably improved communication in the center of Kraków. The tunnel has been equipped with modern safety systems as well as solutions facilitating movement of passengers. The investment definitely increases the attractiveness of the city and we are glad that our company could have been involved in it.

 
Opening of Wyszkow bypass

Otwarcie obwodnicy WyszkowaOn November 14, 2008 the bypass of the city of Wyszków, along the S8 express road, was put to use. A nearly 13-kilometer section was constructed for approximately PLN 262 mln. The Contract was co-financed from EU funds in the total of 83%, and within the scope of the Cohesion Fund Project. Construction works commenced in the spring of the year 2006. The Contractor of works was the joint venture of Budimex Dromex SA and “Mosty – Łódź” SA. Furthermore, a JV of the companies of EGIS Route – Scetauroute and EGIS Poland performed management and supervision over the whole project and works. The national road no. 8, with this section of the bypass, performs an important role in the transit traffic within the national and international scale, as a part of the Polish section of an international road no. E-67 (Czech Republic – Poland – Baltic countries).

 
Opening of a E30 railway

Otwarcie linii kolejowej E30A ceremonious opening of a renovated E30 railway line at a section between Legnica and Węgliniec, within the scope of a modernisation programme that took place on 12 November 2008. Within the scope of modernisation 149 km of tracks were laid and 167 junctions were assembled; also drainage was executed. New poles were erected and 174 km of traction network were assembled. The E30 line was adjusted to the exploitation speed of 160 km/h. Seven railway stations and two stops were renovated. Currently, at a 78-kilometer and modernised section between Legnica and Węgliniec the duty officers coordinate the train traffic from one place – the Local Steering Centre in Bolesławiec. The total project value estimates to over EUR 194 mln. The investment was co-financed from the Cohesion Fund, whereas the project management and supervision over works was conducted by a joint venture of EGIS and Halcrow.
